Today we’d just like to make a quick status update on the wiki pages that are in the works, behind the scene. Initially we only planned on putting up forums where people could post their questions, projects they work on, etc. While working on the forum, we came to a conclusion that wiki pages would also be in order.
PHP Patterns wiki pages update
Wiki pages are a great way for getting the community invovled in the process of building a website. For the kind of plans that we have, we’ll need every help that we can get. Forums are will allow the PHP Patterns community to ask questions and look for help.
Wiki pages on the other hand will be there for putting up more detailed articles, guides and ideas for projects that people work on. Remember, by sharing your code and viewing code of other people you learn a lot as a programmer. By sharing your code others will comment and point out the mistakes that you are making. In the same way, by viewing the code of other people you’ll learn their methods, which might be better than what you’ve come up with.
In short, expect forums to be launched first in the coming weeks. After that, about a month in the future, we’re also going to put up wiki page that anyone can contribute to. Let me know if you have any kind of questions or suggestions. Cheerio.
